Last Saturday, 20th July, a
group of 40 students, 4 teachers and 3 volunteers from prestigious colleges
overseas went for an educational trip to the ‘ USM Muzium dan Galeri Tuanu
Fauziah’ in Sungai Dua, Penang. The students enjoyed a leisure tour around the
multi-story museum before attending a 2 and a half hour ceramic art workshop
where they were taught basic skills on how to make ceramic earthenware out of
clay. At the workshop ends, the students played traditional games made
available to them for free such as congkak and batu seremban. Before heading
off, the students managed to pull off a ‘wayang kulit’ presentation for the
volunteers as their farewell gift. It was indeed an educational and eye-opening
experience for many of them.
